Tell us a bit about your story? What defines you?

I am a daughter, a friend and a supporter. I am the most intense lazy person you’ll ever meet. If I could eat one food group for the rest of my life, it would be tacos. I started a wedding décor company when I was single and did not know a thing about weddings. I am now a textiles and garment manufacturer in the business of dreams.

I moved from Canada to Taiwan about 2.5 years ago to be with my very sick mother. Since then I have taken over my family business and build my little team of fabric/clothing experts. We help others reach their design dreams and business goals by producing things for them! We only take on clients whose vision we truly believe in.

What has been the biggest challenge you have faced in your life?

Definitely imposter syndrome. I often feel like I’m only in the position that I am in today because it was given to me, yet I don’t know how to do most things (but don’t worry, I do!). I often feel undeserving of my success and that everyone else will soon find out that I don’t belong here.

How did you overcome that challenge?

I still struggle with it. I do daily affirmations and write down a “I am… and I will…” statement about myself before I do anything else in the morning. It’s a nice reminder of how cool and badass I am when I am being unkind to myself

What is the biggest lesson you have learnt?

To trust the process. Things (good, bad and horrible!) come in to your life for a reason. It will make sense 3 years down the road!

What would you tell your 15year old self?

So so so many things! Firstly, you’re amazing, beautiful and you’re going to achieve so much! Don’t let people make you feel like you’re not enough because self-worth comes from within. But most importantly, give love to your friends and family, and be there for them whole heartedly. Oh, and also, don’t waste your time being upset over that boy, he won’t matter in a few months!

What is your biggest life tip?

Make light of everything. When you can learn to laugh at yourself and the situation, life gets a lot easier!

What do you think is the biggest issue facing women today?

To be successful and sexy at the same time. DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW HARD THIS IS? Most days, I give myself a gold star for even brushing my teeth. We are expected to fit into this “girl boss” era yet to still carry the traditional feminine qualities of being a woman. We place a lot of pressure on ourselves to be successful and at the same time desirable.

What do you think is the biggest opportunity for women today?

I think the biggest opportunity for women today is support. Our social network allows us to easily build a community and to learn from one another. We don’t know everything and aren’t good at everything (despite what you may think), so it is so important to be able to find other women to support us in areas that are not in your zone of genius.
